Beet Root Curry
Had this curry in my childhood days when my mom to used make it, have tried emulating it after having started to cook finally could achieve it with below mentioned the ingredients & the method. Hope you all will like this !
Beet Root Curry Recipe:
Prep time: 15 mins | Cooking time: 30 mins | Total time: 45 mins
- 3 cups of chopped beetroot (approximately 2 beetroot – depends on the size)
- ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon cumin Seeds
- 2 whole dry red chilli
- 4 curry leaves
- ¼ teaspoon asafetida
- 2 Cups Buttermilk
- 1 tsp Besan
- 1 teaspoon Vegetable/Sunflower oil
- Salt to taste
Heat oil in a wok, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and red chilli. Allow them to crackle add the beetroot and salt, cook till until soft and tender.
Add asafetida, and add whisked buttermilk and cook for two to three minutes.
Mix Besan in two tsps. of water and add it and cook for thicker consistency for about 2 to 3 minutes.
Serve along with hot rice its Yummy and could have papad along.
