Le Cafe Pondicherry

Le Cafe is the only sea facing café in Pondicherry, we were on the way to Chennai from Velankkani, thought would stop by for breakfast, as we have heard a lot about the café. We reached there by around 9.30 am, as per history its supposed to be a old port office during the French period when the railways, used to operate between north and south boulevard. Theirs is pier in front of the Café, after some research found that it was old pier and was destroyed by strong cyclone in 1952, one can see the remains till date from the Le Cafe. Below is the picture depicting the pier and the bridge connecting the same.

Amidst the sparkling water and the cool breeze Le cafe is a serene location to have a brunch, Because of its location, anybody visiting Pondicherry must visit Le Cafe and relish the experience of having to dine on sea front, they also have a rooftop seating, its divine in the evening, but as we had time restriction, we only had breakfast and it’s a self-service café. We came across a peddler selling necklace made of beads and many other varieties i.e. bracelets, anklets, he was a bit expensive side but worth a try 😊
There’s lot of options on the menu, seeking the availability, we opted for breakfast combo, A good cup of Americano, Coffee on the rocks (must try very strong and different with cinnamon flavouring a nice combo with the breakfast), Milkshake for my daughter, and fruit bowl and butter croissant. Over all it was satisfying and enjoyed our breakfast stop.
Please do carry some cash, the swiping machine is always in repair mode, from my personal experience 🙂
