This is my second trip to Jim Corbett National Park / Corbett Tiger Reserve, we stayed in Uttarakhand tourism board accommodation earlier in the buffer zone on the way to Ramnagar, this visit we had booked ourselves in Corbett Woods Resort. My earlier trip was with my students and this time it was with my family and also with my folks. This trip was very special to everyone as we as family were travelling after a long time 😊…!
After a lot of deliberation and research we came to a conclusion that the two important factors i.e. price and feedback Corbett Woods Resort fared well and decided to book them for our stay in Corbett Tiger Reserve. (Click for detailed experience in Jim Corbett National Park).
We had booked for 2 nights and 3 days stay at the resort, we were arriving from Rishikesh and Haridwar to Jim Corbett National Park. Mr. Negi ( Resort Manager) was already in touch with us and trying to figure if we were coming for lunch. We arrived pretty late to resort i.e. almost 8.30 pm the journey was quite adventure as the roads were the worst possible one the way and the we took the route as per the google maps we were taken by “The shortest route” 😊 possible and taken for surprise by some of the places we crossed.
Long things short we arrived at the resort, Corbett Woods Resort is very near the Jirna Zone Gate of Jim Corbett National Park i.e. not more than 5 minutes by vehicle. It falls in the Dehla Region of the park as one would point our rightly. We were shown the tents (swiss a/c tents) we had booked two tents. Our tent was changed as we had some problem in the washroom plumbing.
The tents had all the necessary amenities like A/c, phone connection, Tea Kettle, room Heater, TV, Washroom fully equipped, place to keep out luggage and also a small sit out where we can sit and chill when we have time. They have around 9 to 8 swiss tents and a couple of executive rooms accommodation for the visitors to choose from. One can see that from the video have posted down.
The resort (Corbett Woods Resort) management had arranged for our two Open Jeep Safari’s we had planned 1. Bijrani Zone (Morning Safari) 2. Jirna Zone Safari, we enjoyed the evening safari much better than the Biijrani zone (Morning safari) as the guide and the driver will make a world of difference for any one too enjoy the safari. Both made a lot of effort to give as much information and experience they could. Even though we could not have any sighting of tigers, at the start of the evening safari we nearly missed a herd of elephants crossing our path, as we were entering the park, it was a hair-raising experience 😊..!
To be frank we were the only guest on the property and some of the friends of the owner from Delhi were partying the night we checked in and they also left the next day so practically we were alone. Even then we were given the very same attention which any guests are supposed to be given, the food was excellent on all the days, we were consulted before for the menu for each and every time, we had booked all meal plan. One day they cooked local delicacy i.e. dishes from Kumauni region i.e. Kumauni Raita (Mustard is added which gives a very taste to this dish), Batki Chutkani (A Special lentil which is only found in that region) and one more cannot remember the name ☹..! for my dad and mom being South Indians they got very nice curd, normally South Indians find it difficult to find food of their liking but on the contrary they found the preparations to their liking and rated the best stay among all places they have stayed.
The resort (Corbett Woods Resort) has many other activities the guest can enjoy i.e. swimming pool, a recreation room (with TT table, Billiards table, shuttle and carrom board) to indulge themselves.
The over all attraction of the Corbett Woods Resort would be was the hospitality, the amenities, the up keep of the resort (Well Maintained), Food is Awesome ……!, Cooperative and Supportive staff. We should specially thank Mr. Negi and Ms Rajni making our trip memorable. The property is next to a small river, which flows behind the property, one does not have access to it though.
