As the Mango season begins we think of various ways to eat the fruit, it’s a fruit which is worth the time taken by some people to savour it and don’t leave rock unturned to have the fruit. One can think out of the hat to prepare dishes out of the fruit. We have had curries, sweets, rice, pickles and the list can go on as we think of…..! Mango Ice & Mint Lemonade is one drink which compliments the weather and also the sultry heat outside… 😊

Sometimes Mumbai summer can be harsh and the humidity can be as high as 70 to 80 %. In that type of weather surviving is the only thing we can think of 😊.

Had mangoes in the fridge and was thinking of what to make out those lovely little yellow fellows 😊 thought why not try out lemonade and was going through some recipes found mango lemonade as a favourite drink out there.

Given the sweetness of mango’s, the sourness of lemon and the tanginess of mint which will really get you a high in the hot summer…😊 So, this lemonade with mint and mango ice (replacing traditional ice with mango ice with mint, lemon and sugar will surely be bit more than we can handle. This is an adaption of recipe of Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor.

For Mango Ice

  • 1 cup Diced Mango
  • 5 to 6 nos Mint leaves
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 4 to 5 tsp Lemon Juice

For Mango Ice & Mint Lemonade

  • 8 to 9 nos Mint leaves
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 7 to 8 nos Mango Ice
  • 2 to 3 nos Lemon Juice
  • 1 no bottle Soda Water/Tonic Water Chilled/Cold


How to Make Mango Ice & Mint Lemonade Recipe ?

Mango Ice

  1. Take all the above ingredients under the heading mango ice in a blender and blend it smoothly to a paste.
  2. Put the blended mango mint paste into ice cube tray and freeze them for at least 4 to 5 hrs to form ice out of the paste. I made it day earlier to be on safer side.

Mango Ice with Mint Lemonade:

  1. In glass put some mint leaves, honey, lemon wedges ( 2 to 3 no’s ) and crush with back of the wooden spoon so that all get thoroughly mixed.
  2. Now add the 2 to 3 Mango Ice to this mixture and soda and add soda/tonic water to the above mixture and stir it properly and have it and cools of your steam 😊.

Recipe Notes

  • Remove the Mango Ice just before a couple of minutes when you’re about to make the lemonade, otherwise the ice will melt very soon.
