Its rainy out here and pasta is a one dish, the whole atmosphere calls for PASTA :-), pasta’s a very healthy recipe full of veggies and soul filling too. My family loves pasta, whenever we make pasta its like pasta “WOW” there’s a lot of excitement and lot of anticipation too in the air 😊. Pasta has achieved a certain cult status, which is associated with many emotions and various occasions.

Any form of pasta dish is always flavourful and tasty to our bellies 😊.

Pasta come in various shapes N sizes, pasta has a very long history of origin, which dates back to 13th century, which is documented in the famous book/journal called “ Travels By Marcpolo “ in Italy. Pasta comes in more than 20 different shapes and sizes used in different dishes. Many types of pastas are made, dried, packed and sold. Some types of pasta’s are made then and there and filled with fillings and boiled and served in a sauce. We can say pasta is very versatile.

One good thing about pasta is, it can be loaded with vegetables with whole wheat pasta and one can  make it super quick and easy, what else could anyone ask for since it’s a wholesome meal by itself. Sprinkle/Grate some cheese on it and there you go your children are over the top of the world and will love it. So, its a whole package don’t you agree 😊…!


This recipe which, I am sharing today is made of mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, basil and almond pesto. From the look of it you would imagine a lot of work. In fact, its very easy and quick to prepare and flavorsome to eat.

  • 250 gms Pasta Fusilli/Penne
  • 1 ½ Cup Cherry Tomatoes Diced
  • 200 Gms Button Mushrooms Cleaned & Diced
  • 2 tsp Chilli Flakes
  • 1 Tsp Oregano
  • A Pinch of Ground Nutmeg
  • Salt to taste
  • Olive Oil for frying

For Pesto:

  • 10 Almonds Blanched & Skinned
  • ½ Cup Basil Cleaned & Diced
  • 1 Garlic pod
  • 1 tsp Cheese


How to Make Easy Mushroom Cherry Tomatoes Basil Pesto Pasta ?

  1. Boil Pasta as per the package instructions (El Dente) and set aside to cool, please save some water when draining the pasta.

  2. In grinder take the blanched and skinned almonds, basil and garlic pod and cheese and grind to smooth paste and keep it aside.

  3. Now in the meantime take deep pan and heat olive oil and put the diced cherry tomatoes and cook for a minute or two.

  4. Now add the diced mushrooms and cook for some time and add the other spices i.e. chilli flakes, oregano, nutmeg and salt to taste.

  5. Now add the ground pesto and give it a thorough mix at this stage add the drained pasta, the reserved pasta water and cook for some time till you get desired gravy consistency.

  6. Serve it with garlic bread or chips or any side you feel it goes with. For me a glass of wine and chips would do fine 😊.
