Review: Matunga, Dadar is loaded with south Indian joints, Anand Bhavan is one more gem located in matunga near to the central railway station. This is an old-style Udupi restaurant if any one who have visited restaurants in South India around 10 years back would find the ambiance relating to the period and style with the that period time stamp.

I had gone with my family, we had seen the reviews on Zomato we decided to have breakfast @ Anand Bhavan, Matunga. The restaurant open’s its door pretty early in the morning for its regular patrons from 7 am itself. Compared to Madras Café which is always crowded, Anand Bhavan is a better option as its not over crowded and food is on par with Madras Café. Quick service and chutney and sambar are very tasty.

We ordered Set Dosa, Bun Puri (for My daughter), Idli and Dal Vada, Kottu Idli, Neer Dosa and Podi Dosa, out of which Kottu Idli which is served in pockets of leaves and can find coconut oil blend, which gives very pleasant and different taste and Bun Puri, which is similar to puri but a bit tade sweeter were stand out dishes and rest of the dishes, were are also on par and were tasty too. Finally, we finished with filter coffee, which we cannot miss at any south Indian restaurant.

Prices are nominal, must its must visit for any south Indian food lover and looking for Sunday breakfast brunch. My suggestion please do not miss having Kottu Idli when you are visiting Anand Bhavan.
