I am big fan of Guava from my childhood, always used to eat from the tela/roadside outside the school which he puts salt and chilli powder mix inside the cut fruit and enjoy till on my way to walk to the bus stand.

Guavas, are also known as amrood (in Hindi), just to know couple of facts and one will be astonished that it contains 380% vitamin C and vitamin A 12 % i.e. vitamin c content is five times that of an orange, and it also has substantial amounts of protein, fiber, and folate (These calculations are based on one’s daily values for person i.e. 2000 Calories approximate).

Guava seeds are a good source of dietary fiber that aids in digestion and act as laxative stimulant aiding in reducing constipation. But many people avoid eating guava because of its seeds. In this recipe of Guava Lime Chilli Cooler, we strain and remove the seeds and make the cooler only out of the juice strained out of the pulp.

Ingredients

  • 2 nos Guava
  • 3 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 tsp of Lemon Rind
  • A pinch of Salt

For Glass Rim

  • ¼ tsp of Salt
  • ¼ tsp of Chili Powder

Instructions

How to make Guava Lime Chilli Cooler ?

  1. Wash and cube the guava in fairly large chunks. Place it in a blender add some water and lemon rind. Grind it for half a minute or so. Don’t grind it for long, we will end up grinding the seeds tool.
  2. Take double strainer or metal strainer and strain the pulp through the strainer. WE can see the seeds left back and some pulp. Add the lemon juice and salt to the strained juice

For the Chilli Glass Rim :

  1. Take small plate it should be the size of the glass opening. Mix salt and chili powder together.
  2. Now take the glass and just slightly dab the rim of the glass with water. Now dip the glass rim in the salt and chilli powder mix and nicely rub it into the plate. Now you will have the glass coated with salt and chilli powder on the rim.
  3. Now pour the guava lime juice into the glass and serve it with ice cubes added if required.
